Terms of service

Mitten is a household-finance service for tracking shared spending, budgets, and debt, with an AI helper, Penny, that suggests categories and plans on a suggest-then-confirm basis. We provide the service on a best-effort basis and improve it over time; features may be added, changed, or removed as the product develops.

You need an account to use Mitten, and you must give accurate information when you create one. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. One person may administer a household and invite others; every member you invite can see the household's shared financial picture.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.

Please use Mitten for its intended purpose. You agree not to:

• break the law with it, or use it to store or move unlawful content;
• attempt to access other households' data, probe our security, or disrupt the service;
• resell, scrape, or build a competing product out of the service; or
• upload content you have no right to, or that infringes someone else's rights.

We may suspend accounts that put the service or other households at risk.

Mitten is one plan, billed either monthly at $12 or yearly at $89. Prices are shown in USD; your local price and any taxes are calculated at checkout.

New households start with a 7-day free trial with every feature included. No payment is taken during the trial. When the trial ends, your chosen subscription begins and renews automatically for the same period until you cancel.

Payments are handled by Paddle.Paddle.com Market Ltd is our authorized reseller and merchant of record. When you subscribe, your contract for the purchase is with Paddle, Paddle's buyer terms (opens in a new tab) also apply to the transaction, and Paddle appears on your statement and issues your receipt.

You can cancel anytime from your account settings. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not cut you off mid-period.

After a trial or subscription ends, your household keeps the current month's categorized spending, free, so your numbers are never held hostage. A subscription is what restores full history, budgets, debt planning, and Penny's help.

You can stop using Mitten and delete your household at any time from account settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms or that we are legally required to act on, and where practical we will tell you why. On termination, the data provisions in our privacy policy apply.

Mitten helps you understand your money; it is not financial, tax, or legal advice, and you remain responsible for your own decisions. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties beyond those that the law requires and does not let us exclude.

To the extent the law allows, Mitten is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not permit us to limit, including your rights as a consumer.

These terms are governed by the laws of the EU member state where the operator is established, and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
